Agile auditing adopters are moving to dynamic risk assessments and audit planning. Using this alternative, auditors regularly reassess and reprioritize risks based on the best available information currently available. The audit plan is not set at the beginning of the year, and, for some Agile audit teams, the audits are determined every one to four weeks. Waiting to respond to the risks and decide on your next audit a week or so before the audit begins presents some logistic challenges. Dynamic risk assessment requires:
Greater collaboration with audit committee, senior leadership, and process owners
Iterative planning with focus on emerging risks
Increased use of technology tools such as data analytics, robotics process automation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (see Chapter 12)
